The Team Thompson crew captained by Russell Gahagan (center) and flanked by brothers Dave VanAkkeren (left) and Pete VanAkkeren (right) literally blew away the competition to win the Sheboygan Salmon Cup inaugural event. A combination of Rapture Flies pulled behind Protroll flashers and Michigan Stinger Protroll flashers proved to be the right combination. 23 lbs seperated them from the rest of the pack. The fish was taken from very shallow water on a Stinger Scorpion silver "boy- girl" pattern. It measured 31" and weighed 10.32 lbs. A really great Walleye on any water! Unfortunately it was taken pre fishing the day before a tournament. Timing is everything!
